Our team shocked ourselves in this event. We averaged under 7 minute miles on a non-straight trail. Of course I'll only mention the good but we finished in second place of 21 teams in the run. Who knew?
WOD 2 - Part 1: 1 rep max (1RM) of Clean + Hang Clean without dropping in 10 minutes (for the 4 of us!)
I couldn't believe this one. I actually beat my 1RM for a single clean alone. I beat it and did it twice without dropping the weight! So happy!
(5 minutes later)
WOD 2 - Part 2: Each person completes the following 3x for time:
- 6 deadlifts (185lbs women, 225lbs men)
- 12 plate burpees
WOD 3 - Part 1: 20 ft handstand walk into handstand push ups
Our ladies made it to the wall and unfortunately, we both kicked the wall and fell but we made it to the wall!
WOD 3 - Part 2: Max distance triple jump
WOD 4: Chipper - finish the following for time (20 minute time cap) (1 person working at a time to complete reps)
- 100 overhead squats (65lbs women, 95lbs men)
- 100 each arm, 1 arm kettlebell snatch (35lbs women, 53lbs men)
- 200 double unders (jump rope)
- 100 pull ups
- 100 thrusters (65lbs women, 95lbs men)
- 100 box jump overs
- 30 muscle ups
Thoughts on it all
Speaking of the photos, ooooooooh my. First, photos of you working out hard is so not the pretty picture that come out of a fitness competition where you're posing perfectly (obviously). Some of the faces you make achieving a new PR are just ugly! But no body cares...it's awesome. Next, after seeing these photos, I was shocked! Mostly I thought, "Where in the heck did that ass come from?!" I mean, I'm still a bit uncomfortable in my bigger body, but I can lift heavy, do pull ups, and just overall do these amazing things I've never been able to do before. For sure, if I were to do a cutting phase for a fitness competition, I'd come in with WAY more muscle than last time! But as I said before, it'll be a long time before I consider competing again. So bikini and figure ladies, you might want to just consider doing CrossFit 2-3 times a week and forget about a diet plan. Just eat enough protein and clean food, workout less with CrossFit, and then go into a cutting phase before your competitions...seriously. You'll get bigger without so much calculated effort and then (as you all know), it's all about tweaking your diet when it's time to shed that fat. Well, that's all I have!
